Early-'70s hit-maker Gilbert O'Sullivan is heading Stateside next April for an extended nine-city run. Earlier this year, O'Sullivan dipped his toes in the water for a few shows marking his first U.S. gigs in over 43 years. O'Sullivan is best remembered for his string of five Top 40 hits, including 1973's Top Seven favorite "Get Down," the previous year's Top Two smash, "Claire," and his six-week 1972 chart-topping classic — "Alone Again" (Naturally)."

The 2020 dates kick off on April 12th at Washington, D.C.'s City Winery and stretch through April 26th when the trek wraps in Los Angeles at The Mint. Along the way, O'Sullivan will hit Philly; Manhattan; Boston; Chicago; Nashville; Atlanta; and Berkeley, California.

O'Sullivan received raves for his recent album, the 2018 self-titled release, which was produced by Ethan Johns — son of the legendary Who and Eric Clapton producer Glyn Johns.

We recently caught up with Gilbert O'Sullivan and pressed him about what fans can expect from his upcoming shows: ["Well, you'll get two-and-a quarter hours of some of the best-known songs, album tracks that people like, plus a sample of the new material. So, there's plenty to choose from. There's a continuity right through my career, picking out songs that I think work well melodically and lyrically that people will find interesting, I hope. And then, there's that element of new material, which we bring in four or five songs from the new album."] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . . the new album)
