Bruce Springsteen is currently in Europe doing press for his new concert film, Western Stars, which premiered in the U.S. on Sunday night (October 13th) and played at London's BFI London Film Festival last week. Springsteen will release his upcoming soundtrack album, Western Stars – Songs From The Film on October 25th — the same day the movie hits theaters.
While in England, "The Boss" chatted to The Bellissimo Files and explained the feelings behind what it takes to be a performing entertainer: ["The stage is a unique place; it's pretend, first of all. So, you're making believe — though, you're trying to experience and communicate authentic emotion. And you present a picture of a world and a life that your audience enters with you, where you communicate and experience a set of common values and dreams and interests with the people that you've been in conversation with for 40, or 45 years — or with some of them, only five years, or for the first time that night."] SOUNDCUE (:29 OC: . . . time that night)
Over 30 years after hooking up with and then marrying E Street Band-mate Patti Scialfa, he spoke candidly about how he's been able to be part of such a successful relationship: ["Anybody that's been married for a long time'll tell ya, it's a daily experience. You take it a day at a time and hope that everything works out (laughs). Y'know, there's never any guarantees that the next day is gonna be what you want it to be. So, you do your best and you just take it a day at a time and you hope that the things that you've built sustains you. Y'know, I make a lot of mistakes along the way, but you hope that the foundation that you've built, and the knowledge you've gained as you've gone through life, is enough to sustain the life that you've chosen."] SOUNDCUE (:33 OC: . . . that you've chosen)
On November 4th, Bruce Springsteen will once again headline the annual "Stand Up For Heroes" benefit at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. In addition to Jon Stewart, who appears every year, this year's comedy event will also feature John Oliver, Hasan Minhaj, Ronny Chieng, with other guests still to be announced.
