Bryan Adams is gearing up for his first North American dates with fellow 1980's icon Billy Idol. The pair has eight shed dates on the books next month and launches the trek on August 1st in Gilford, New Hampshire at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion.

We asked Adams if the two of them ever hung out back in the day: ["I first met Billy when I photographed him and then I met him again when I toured with him. So, we met a few times. I knew there was a few dates and they were batting ideas around and it might be fun to work with somebody and I suggested Billy, because I really like Billy; plus we've worked together before in Europe — and he's just great live. So, I just thought it'd be really fun to do some dates together."] SOUNDCUE (:20 OC: . . . some dates together)

Bryan Adams' latest album, the critically acclaimed Shine A Light, features five new cuts co-written with his primary collaborator for the past 40 tears, Jim Vallance. We asked Bryan Adams how the long and successful partnership has changed over the decades: ["It's not morphed or evolved — It's just the same (laughs). The only thing that's different is that half the time we're Trans-Pacifically communicating, and that's how a lot of our songs either get germinated or completed."] SOUNDCUE (:12 OC: . . . germinated or completed)
