Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have announced a free meal a day to TSA workers currently working without pay and furloughed members of the Coast Guard. The Kiss co-founders posted a video message announcing that the government workers will be eligible for free food at their Rock & Brews restaurant chain.
Stanley and Simmons' message stated why they felt the need to do their part during the partial governmental shutdown: “(Gene Simmons): We're proud to operate our Rock & Brews restaurants at airports and respect the diligent hard work of each TSA employee to ensure the safety of who else? Us. (Paul Stanley): While the TSA continues to work on our behalf without pay, we wanna make sure that we can at least provide them with a delicious meal to show our support.”
Paul Stanley appeared on CNN and explained that helping out our nation's first line of defense is really a no-brainer: “We just believe in giving back to the community and our community is this country. So, to have a situation where 800,000 people are out of work, basically because of political egos and strategizing forgets the point that those are the people that make this country great. And we make sure that the TSA workers and Coast Guard right now get one meal a day from us.”
Kiss kicks off its “End Of The Road” tour on January 31st at Vancouver's Canada Rogers Arena.
