Neil Young has announced his new Crazy Horse album titled, Colorado, will be released in October. Young posted on his official Neil Young Archives site, that the album will feature, "Ten new songs ranging from around 3 minutes to over 13 minutes. We hope you love this new album as much as we do." The album's lead single, "Rainbow Of Colors" is set to drop later this month.
A movie chronicling the album's recording, titled, Mountaintop Sessions, is also in the works: "It is a wild one folks, no hold barred. You will see the whole process just as it went down! Worts (sic) and all! I don’t think a film about this subject with the openness and intensity we have captured has ever been seen. You can be the judge of that, because Shakey Pictures’ Mountaintop Sessions masterfully shot by our cinematographer C.K. Vollick, will be released in over 100 theaters world-wide the week our album Colorado debuts, in October."
Neil Young explained what Crazy Horse brings to him as a songwriter and a musician: ["They make me play better and I've known them for so long, they make me play better when I play with them. It's just a certain kind of music I play great with Crazy Horse. It's more free. Crazy Horse is a very simple sound, it's mostly emotional and not very technical — so, I like that. 'Gives me a chance to expresses myself."] SOUNDCUE (:18 OC: . . . to express myself)
