Ozzy Osbourne has canceled upcoming shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan as his wife and manager Sharon has confirmed that her husband had been battling pneumonia.

Sharon said in a statement, "Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part. His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel."

The latest concert cancellations come two weeks after Ozzy was admitted to the Keck Hospital of University of Southern California with a respiratory infection. Doctors feared he could develop pneumonia, which is potentially fatal for someone his age.

Ozzy also postponed the entire entire U.K. and European leg of his "No More Tours 2" run as a result of his illness. This was Ozzy's second recent stay in the hospital. Last October, the metal legend contracted a staph infection that required him to have surgery on his hand and resulted in him canceling several U.S. shows.

The Black Sabbath singer and legendary solo metal artist does not have any other gigs booked until May 29th, when he is scheduled to launch a North American run in Atlanta.
